Body
Medium larvae up to 5 mm long. Few claws on the very long posterior parapods. No lateral and ventral tubules. Procercus and anal tubules present (Wiederholm, 1983).
Head
Antenna
The antenna consists of 7 segments. The blade is shorter subequal to the flagellum. Lauterborn organs are absent Beckidia antenna.
Mentum
The mentum has one trifid median tooth and 4 pairs of lateral teeth. The ventromental plates are about as wide as the mentum with a crenate anterior margin Beckidia mentum.
Labrum
SI is simpel and labral lamellae are weakly developed. The pecten epipharyngis is single scale. The premandible has 5 teeth.
Mandible
The mandible without dorsal tooth, apical tooth and 3 inner teeth are present Beckidia mandible, The pecten mandibularis and seta interna are absent.
Differential characteristics
The 7 segmented antenna Beckidia antenna and mentum with a trifid median tooth and only 4 pairs of lateral teeth Beckidia mentum is distinctive.
