Body
Small to medium sized larvae with a length up to 6 mm. Living larvae are yellowish or light-green. No fringe of swimming hairs(Wiederholm, 1983; Moller Pillot, 1984a).
Head
The head length is 0.60-0.65 mm with a cephalic index of 50 - 55 (Wiederholm, 1983; Moller Pillot, 1984a).
Antenna
The second antennal segment is brown with a tuning fork distally. The antennal ratio is about 3. The ring organ is situated at 0.45 - 0.6 of the height of the first segment. The second segment distally has a U shaped process the tuning fork Mon tuningfork (Wiederholm, 1983; Moller Pillot, 1984a).
Mentum
Dorsomentum without teeth.
Ligula and paraligula
Ligula with 5 brown teeth in a slightly concave row. Paraligula with a long outer and smaller inner tooth Mon ligula paraligula (Wiederholm, 1983; Moller Pillot, 1984a)
Mandible
The mandible has a large basal tooth.
Maxilla
The maxilla is short with an undivided basal segment.
Anal tubules
4 anal tubules which are longer than wide.
Posterior parapods
One brown and 4 yellow claws with inner teeth Mon claws (Moller Pillot, 1984a).
Differential characteristics
Distinctive is the brown second antennal segment in combination with a concave ligula Mon ligula paraligula. Labrundinia, Paramerina and Xenopelopia have a brown antennal segment but convex or straight rows of ligula teeth.
