Body
Small larvae. The body is very slender. The 2nd and 3d thoracic segments are fused leaving only two thoracic segments. The anterior and posterior parapods are unusually long and both with crowns of claws. Two pairs of anal tubules present (Wiederholm, 1983 ).
Head
The head length is 0.206 - 0.250 mm and very narrow (Schmid, 1993).
Antenna
The antenna subequal to the head, with 4 segments.
Mentum
The mentum with three median teeth and 5 pairs of lateral teeth. The central tooth is normal and the first lateral tooth is slghtly reduced Cory sp A mentum.
Labrum
The pecten epipharyngis consists of three spines, SI is simpel and the premandible with up to 12 tiny teeth (Wiederholm, 1983).
Mandible
The mandible with a distal tooth and 4 inner teeth. The seta interna present or absent (Wiederholm, 1983).
Differential characteristics
The slender head with the unusually long antenna are distinctive Coryno antenna. Only Thienemanniella has a head of similar shape, but the antenna is only half the head length Antenna half headlength. Heterotanytarsus also has antennae as long as the head but the headcapsule is much wider.
Corynoneura sp-a can be separated from the other Corynoneura by having an antenna as long as the head. Also a normal central tooth of the mentum is distinctive Cory sp A mentum.
