Body
Small larvae up to 4.5 mm long. Living larvae have a yellow thorax and a whitish abdomen. The anterior parapods are fused with a few simpel claws. The two posterior parapods are separate and bear a few claws. Procercus and two pairs of anal tubules absent (Strenzke, 1950).
Head
Antenna
The antenna consists of five segments. First and second segment equally long. The fourth segment longer than the third. The blade is subequal to the flagellum. Lauterborn organs are absent Mesosm flex antenna.
Mentum
The mentum has one domed median teeth with 2 very small accessory teeth and 5 pairs of lateral teeth. The outer 2 pairs are inconspicuous The ventromental plates are small. The beard is absent Mesosm flex mentum.
Labrum
The pecten epipharyngis consists of three subequal spines, SI is simpel and the premandible has two apical and two inner teeth (Strenzke, 1950; Moller Pillot, 1984b).
Mandible
The mandible has an apical tooth and 3 inner teeth. The seta interna is absent (Strenzke, 1950).
Differential characteristics
The combination of the procercus absent, 5 antennal segments Mesosm flex antenna, mentum with 5 pairs of lateral teeth Mesosm flex mentum and SI simpel is distinctive.
