Kiefferulus tendipediformis

(Goetghebuer, 1921)

Body
Medium sized to large larvae of 9-12 mm long. No lateral tubules, but one pair of ventral tubules on the 11 segment. (Wiederholm, 1983; Moller Pillot, 1984a).

Head
The head capsule is dull due to the intensive fine granulation. Anterior margin of frontal apotome is concave with a conspicuous subapical pit Kieff tend front apot. Labral sclerites 1 and 2 are present.
Antenna
The antenna consists of 5 segments. The blade is shorter than the flagellum. Lauterborn organs distally on the second segment.

Labrum
SI is plumose on both sides and labral lamellae form a single plate with many apical spines. The pecten epipharyngis is a simpel comb with apical teeth and smooth surface. Premandible with 6 teeth Kieff tend premandible.
Mandible
The mandible with a pale dorsal tooth and 1-2 adjacent teeth, apical tooth and 3 inner teeth.
