(Kieffer, 1911)
Body
Small larvae up to 4 mm long in a transportable case Lauterb case 8. Living larvae pale red in a transportable case. Lateral tubules on segment 10 long. Segment 11 with a large anally directed hump. Segments 11 and 12 at a straight angle with the body axis Lauterb anal segments. Procercus and anal tubules present (Wiederholm, 1983; Moller Pillot, 1984a).
Head
The clypeus is separate from the frontal apotome.
Antenna
The antenna consists of 6 segments. The blade is a little longer than the flagellum. Lauterborn organs alternating on the distal end of segment 2 and 3.
Mentum
The mentum has two median tooth and 6 pairs of lateral teeth. The first lateral pair is very small. The ventromental plates 0.7-0.9x as wide as the mentum Lauterb mentum. Setae submenti plumose.
Labrum
SI is plumose on one side and labral lamellae a single plate with many distal teeth. The pecten epipharyngis with three separate plates and distal teeth, resembling Tanytarsus, Micropsectra and other Tanytarsini genera. The premandible has three apical teeth.
Mandible
The mandible with a very long dorsal tooth, apical tooth dark and 2 inner teeth, The pecten mandibularis is present and seta interna with 4 toothed and plumose branches.
Differential characteristics
The ventrally bend segments 11 and 12 are unique Lauterb anal segments. Only Lauterborniella and Zavreliella have a transportable case Lauterb Zavreliella case. Zavreliella has latero-ventral tubules on segment 10 Zavreliella anal segments (Lauterborniella 11) and segments 11 and 12 in the line of the body axis.
