(Edwards, 1929)
Body
Large larvae up to 11 mm long. No lateral and ventral tubules (Wiederholm, 1983).
Head
The anterior margin of frontal apotome is convex without a subapical pit. Labral sclerites 1 is absent and labral sclerite 2 is present.
Antenna
The antenna consists of 6 segments. The blade is as long as the flagellum. Lauterborn organs alternate on segment 2 and 3.
Mentum
The mentum has 4 dark median teeth with the central pair narrower than the second pair and 6 pairs of lateral teeth. The first and second lateral pairs are fused Omisus mentum. The ventromental plates 1-1.2 x as wide as the mentum.
Labrum
SI is plumose on one side only and labral lamellae form a single plate with numerous thin apical teeth. The pecten epipharyngis with 3 distally toothed lamellae. The premandible has 2 apical teeth.
Mandible
The mandible with a pale dorsal tooth and an additional subapical tooth, apical tooth short with 2 inner teeth, The pecten mandibularis apparently absent and seta interna with 4 plumose branches.
Differential characteristics
Four median mental teeth Omisus mentum, only 2 inner mandibular teeth and alternate Lauterborn organs separate Omisus, Paratendipes and Stictochironomus from all other genera. Omisus has a middle section of the mentum lower, in contrast to Stictochironomus Sticto mentum normal and dark teeth instead of yellow teeth in Paratendipes Paratend albi mentum9.
